In a dazzling display of talent and teamwork, the Pike Road/Montgomery-based Team Warriors made headlines at the 2025 Alabama State Championship VEX IQ Robotics Competition by clinching three awards. Comprised of students aged 8 to 12, the young innovators secured the titles of Skill Champion, Teamwork 2nd Place, and the coveted Amaze Award at the recent championship held at Auburn University from February 28 to March 1.
Standing out among their peers, Team Warriors shattered records and expectations to mark their dominance in the competition. Pike Road residents Justin Lee (12) and Charlotte Lee (10), along with Montgomery teammates Eubin An (10) and Jaely An (8), stunned the audience by setting a new state record in the Skill Champion category. With an impressive total score of 428 points – 232 in Autonomous Coding Skill and 196 in Driving Skill – they outperformed the second-place team by a staggering 108-point margin.
What makes this achievement even more extraordinary is the age range of the team members, with a majority being elementary school students competing successfully against middle school participants. Throughout the 2024-2025 season, Team Warriors have accumulated an outstanding 16 awards, including Excellence Awards, Skill Champion, and Teamwork Champion titles.
With their latest triumphs, Team Warriors have earned a well-deserved spot at the highly anticipated VEX IQ World Championship scheduled for May 12 to 14 in Dallas, Texas. The global event will host 420 teams from the U.S. and international participants, setting the stage for an exhilarating display of robotic prowess.
As Team Warriors gears up for the international challenge, the members remain devoted to intense training and continuous improvement. Their unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation has positioned them as a formidable force in the world of VEX IQ Robotics, primed to showcase their remarkable skills on the global stage.
