Young baseball players ages 8 to 13 in Pike Road will have the opportunity to learn from two collegiate athletes this month as Troy University standouts Jabe Boroff and Hayden Smith host a series of one-day youth baseball camps at Macon East Academy in Pike Road.
The camp comes on the heels of a historic 2026 season for the Troy Trojans, who advanced to the College World Series. Boroff and Smith played key roles in Troy’s memorable postseason run, and now they’re bringing that experience back to the next generation of players.
For Boroff, the event is especially meaningful. A Pike Road native and graduate of Macon East Academy, he returns to his alma mater to give back to the community where his baseball journey began.
“I’ve always wanted to come back and help the kids in the area that supported me growing up,” Boroff said. “Playing at Macon East and then having the opportunity to compete at Troy and reach the College World Series has been an incredible experience. I hope we can share some of what we’ve learned while making the camp a fun and memorable day for every player.”
In addition to Boroff and Smith, several other Troy University baseball players are expected to attend and assist with instruction, giving campers the opportunity to work alongside current Division I athletes.
The camp will focus on developing the fundamentals of the game, including pitching, fielding and hitting, while emphasizing proper technique, teamwork and a love for baseball. Players will receive hands-on instruction through drills and skill development designed for their respective age groups.
Three separate one-day sessions are scheduled:
- July 6 – Ages 12–13
- July 16 – Ages 8–9
- *New Date July 27 – Ages 10–13
Each camp will be held at Macon East Academy in Pike Road and costs $90 per participant.
The daily schedule includes:
- 8:00–8:15 a.m. – Registration
- 8:15–11:15 a.m. – Camp instruction
- 11:15–11:30 a.m. – Pick-up
Organizers say the camp is designed for players of varying skill levels who want to improve their game while learning from athletes who have competed on college baseball’s biggest stage.
