by Pike Road News

The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced that temporary lane closures will be implemented for the Pike Road roundabouts project, commencing on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m.

These closures are necessary for milling operations and are expected to end by 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3. However, the lane closures will resume at 6 p.m. on Monday evening and will continue until 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The affected areas are at the intersections of SR-126 and US-80, as well as Marler Road and US-80 where the new roundabouts are being built.

ALDOT has confirmed that no further lane closures are anticipated for the remainder of the week.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone, to reduce their speed, and to remain vigilant for construction equipment and vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.
