Pike Road High School’s JK Longnecker has reached a landmark few high school soccer players attain, scoring the 100th goal of her varsity career and etching her name into the program’s history. The milestone highlights a journey defined by consistency, commitment, and hard work.
“JK has grown up on the soccer fields, always keeping up and competing with her older brothers,” said Candi Longnecker, JK’s mother. “She loves the sport and all that goes with it. There isn’t a day that goes by that JK isn’t putting in the work to get better.”
Longnecker has been a staple of the Pike Road varsity squad since seventh grade, bringing a relentless drive and a team-first approach that have helped fuel the program’s success.
Pike Road Women’s Soccer Coach, Taylor Jones shared, “JK is the captain her peers chose for a reason—she leads with her work ethic. She’s the last to leave practice, staying after—sometimes for hours—taking shots, and that example sets the tone for everyone.”
“She has played on the PRS varsity team since 7th grade and has loved it,” Candi continued. “JK has always said every goal is the product of a great team working together. PR girls soccer is a special program and always has been. The girls love each other, support one another and it shows on the field. These goals are definitely a reflection of that teamwork.”
Jones shared, “Her relentless work has paid off: she scored her 100th goal early in her junior season and committed to JSU. JK truly breathes soccer, and her devotion lifts the standard of the entire team.”
In another major milestone for both player and program, Longnecker verbally committed prior to the 2026 high school soccer season to continue her career at Jacksonville State University, where she will compete at the Division I level.
For Pike Road, Longnecker’s 100th goal stands as both a personal achievement and a testament to a culture that values effort, unity, and daily improvement—qualities that have carried her this far and will continue to shape her next chapter in the sport.
