The Pike Road High School wrestling program has reached new heights as they made history at the recent AHSAA 6A State Tournament.
For the first time ever, all seven of Pike Road’s qualifying wrestlers at the tournament have emerged as State Placers, marking a monumental achievement for the team.
Not only did all seven wrestlers earn placement in the state tournament, but Pike Road Wrestling also secured the prestigious title of AHSAA 6A State Runner-Up as a team for the year 2025. This remarkable feat has brought well-deserved recognition to the program and has solidified its position among the top wrestling teams in the state.
The individual achievements of the Pike Road wrestlers are equally impressive. Among the State Placers are State Champions Dylan Yarema in the 113 lbs weight class and Cody Kirk in the 190 lbs weight class. Myers Duncan and Mason Hussey secured the title of State Runner-Ups in the 138 lbs and 175 lbs weight classes, respectively.
Additionally, Luke Dickinson claimed the 3rd Place spot in the 126 lbs weight class, Ethan Holloway achieved 5th Place in the 215 lbs weight class, and Jack Posey earned 6th Place in the 132 lbs weight class. These outstanding performances by each wrestler have showcased their talent, dedication, and hard work throughout the season.
The success of the Pike Road Wrestling team has not gone unnoticed, with the community celebrating their historic achievements. The athletes, coaches, and supporters of the program have been praised for their commitment and resilience, which have culminated in this extraordinary season.
