“Into The Woods” by Stephen Sondheim and James Lupine is a blend of several classic Brothers Grimm fairytales into one big story told through song.
The musical’s first half depicts four classic Grimm fairytales- Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, and Jack and the Bean Stalk- mostly accurate to how they were originally written. But there’s a fifth party in this group of tales, a married couple of bakers who discover they cannot have a child because a witch put a curse on them.
