Pike Road Schools has named its new athletic director.
Officials say Coach Mike Atkins will take on the new role.
Atkins has 22 years of experience in teaching and coaching, including six years as an athletic director.
School officials say for the past five years, Atkins has been a part of the Pike Road High School team.
Atkins lives in Pike Road and his wife, Valerie, is the school counselor at Pike Road Junior High School. The couple has three kids.
