On each of these measures, Pike Road Schools reached its highest levels in three years.

For Superintendent Dr. Keith Lankford, these results are a tribute to the people who put in the work day after day. “Many people play a role in this success, our board members, principals, teachers, and families, but the greatest credit belongs to our students. They have worked with purpose, shown resilience, and been intentional in their learning.”
That intention shows up in the classroom and beyond. In elementary rooms where foundational literacy takes root, in intermediate labs and math workshops where curiosity becomes confidence, in junior high projects that stretch teamwork and critical thinking, and in high school pathways that connect students to college and careers—the arc points upward. While Pike Road High School earned a strong B (89), it remains within striking distance of an A, buoyed by the district’s record-high graduation and college-and-career readiness rates.

The district’s drop in chronic absenteeism to 7.09% underscores that commitment to showing up, a key ingredient in every other success.
Academic growth and achievement reaching three-year highs in ELA, Math, and Science speaks to a district building skills consistently across grade levels. That upward momentum, combined with the 85.63% college and career readiness rate and a 97.60% graduation rate, means more Pike Road students are leaving high school ready for what’s next—whether that’s a university lecture hall, a technical certification, the military, or the workforce.
None of it came easily. These results reflect sustained effort across multiple school years, a clear focus on data, and a culture that celebrates progress while pushing for more. The fact that every school in the district made the A–B Honor Roll and either maintained or improved from last year signals a system moving together, not in isolated pockets but as a whole.
There should be celebration in the district and school hallways—handshakes, high-fives, and small moments of recognition that matter. But there’s also resolve to continue to improve at each level. An “A” isn’t a finish line; it’s a promise to keep getting better. In Pike Road, this means refining the work that’s already effective: keeping students in school and engaged, strengthening literacy and numeracy at every level, and expanding meaningful pathways to college and careers.
