Pike Road Schools has named two seniors Ashley Lee (basketball) and Noah Foley (baseball) as its high school nominees for the 2026 Jimmy Hitchcock Memorial Award, recognizing student-athletes who exemplify Christian leadership, character, and service.
Established in 1959 to honor the legacy of Montgomery native and Auburn University great Jimmy Hitchcock, the award is a program of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery. Montgomery County schools nominate seniors who demonstrate exceptional character, effort, and leadership in athletics as well as in their schools, churches, and communities. Each year, one male and one female honoree are chosen from among the nominees across the county.
Hitchcock, Auburn’s first All-American in football and also an All-American in baseball, went on to play professionally and helped introduce Little League baseball to Montgomery—contributions that continue to shape the community’s student-athlete culture today.
In addition to Lee and Foley, Pike Road Schools is also proud to recognize three Junior High students, William Cuthbert (football), Hadley Hawthorne (cross country, soccer), and Riley Love (tennis), as nominees through the program’s eighth-grade honors.
