Action 8 News was there as the ribbon was cut for the Pike Road McDonald’s restaurant, which is preparing to open to the public.
Today, a private soft opening was held for invited guests.
The McDonald’s is located near the intersection of Vaughn and Pike roads, across from the Publix shopping center.
Stephen Murphy is the owner and the son of the founding Murphy Family Restaurants franchisee, which started with two restaurants, now the new Pike Road McDonald’s makes it 34, with 31 in Alabama and three in the Florida panhandle.
The new McDonald’s is part of the larger Merry Corners Center shopping center development, which is still under construction.
It will open to the public on Thursday, October 23.
