The Pike Road Lions Club has announced the inaugural recipient of the Charlene Rabren Scholarship, honoring a student whose leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to service reflect the values of the organization and the legacy of Charlene Rabren.
According to the club, Pike Road High School graduate Lillian Restad has been selected as the first recipient of the scholarship. The award was established to recognize outstanding student leaders connected to the school’s Leo Club program. The scholarship was first introduced earlier this year by the Pike Road Lions Club in honor of longtime community supporter Charlene Rabren.
Restad distinguished herself through both academics and extracurricular leadership during her time at Pike Road High School. She served as President of the Leo Club, while also previously holding the roles of Vice President and Secretary. In addition, she participated in the school’s marching and concert bands and was active in the National Honor Society, National Math Society, National Art Society, and National Music Society. She also served as President of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
A resident of Pike Road since 2016, Restad lives with her parents, Mark and Jihwa Restad, and her sister, Emily. This fall, she will attend Auburn University, where she plans to major in architecture. Her interest in the field has been inspired by her passion for art and residential architecture.
The Pike Road Lions Club congratulated Restad on her graduation and expressed confidence that her future will include many more accomplishments and opportunities to lead and serve others.
The Charlene Rabren Scholarship represents a new tradition for the Pike Road Lions Club as it continues investing in student leadership and community service through its partnership with the Leo Club program.
