At its regularly scheduled meeting on July 22, the Pike Road Town Council unanimously approved an ordinance naming the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department (PRVFD) as the town’s primary fire and emergency services provider for all properties within the town limits.

Mayor Gordon Stone said, “The Town of Pike Road would like to inform every citizen of an important decision relative to fire and emergency services. On July 22, the Pike Road Town Council unanimously adopted an ordinance to designate the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department as the primary fire and emergency service provider for all properties incorporated in the Town of Pike Road.”

“This action provides for clarity and efficiency,” said Stone. “As a result of this decision, citizens should be confident that the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department will respond to any need that should arise.”

“Moving forward the Town of Pike Road remains committed to a plan of action where service to citizens is always a priority,” commented Stone. “The Town of Pike Road appreciates every individual currently serving as a first responder and thanks each for their dedication.”

Town leaders said the change is intended to streamline emergency response and reinforce a single, clearly designated provider for fire and emergency services. The Town of Pike Road expressed appreciation to all first responders for their ongoing service and commitment.
