Firehouse Subs has opened its newest River Region location in Pike Road within the Merry Corners Shopping Center. The location is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., closing only on primary holidays.
The Pike Road shop is co-owned by Rayleen and Paul Luis and is the couple’s only location. Rayleen serves as the operating owner, working in the restaurant daily.

Rayleen shared, “We chose Firehouse Subs for its community-first model and close ties to first responders, and we plan to support the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.”
She continued by sharing, ” Our grand opening festivities are set for Monday, April 13. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mayor Gordon Stone will broadcast his “Mondays with the Mayor” radio program on-site.”
Members of the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department will also be in attendance, bringing a ladder truck for the celebration.
“As part of our grand opening, we are inviting first responders and military personnel to help launch a “patch wall”, said Paul. “The ‘patch wall’ is located just inside the restaurant, and we want first responders and military personnel to place their department or unit patch—or a uniform name tape—on display.”
As an incentive to help fill up the wall, the Luis’ are giving 15% off their order to anyone who brings a patch or name tape for the wall on Monday during the Grand Opening.
In addition, to honor service members and first responders year-round, the location is offering a 10% discount with military or first responder ID and a 25% discount for personnel in uniform.
“We are focused on hiring locally,” said Rayleen. “We have already had several Pike Road Patriots join the team.”

She also shared that they plan to participate in the Hire-A-Patriot program and expect to add more local talent as the restaurant grows.
For a little background on the Luis’—Rayleen has taught upper-level English in the Pike Road community for the past decade, first at Macon East Academy and later at Pike Road High School. Paul is a Major in the Alabama Army National Guard with two deployments and serves as a financial manager for the Baptist Hospital System. The couple has lived in Pike Road since 2021 with their son, Caden, an eighth grader at Pike Road Junior High, and their dog, Fox.
“We so are grateful to Pike Road for the support and we are excited to give back to our amazing Pike Road community,” shared Rayleen.
