The Kiwanis Club of Pike Road is gearing up for its fifth annual Family Fun Run, scheduled for April 26, to raise funds for college scholarships benefiting Pike Road seniors. The untimed 5K run will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Town Square at The Waters, welcoming participants of all ages and skill levels – from beginners to running enthusiasts. Registration for the event is now open, with a fee of $25 for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under, which includes a colorful fun run T-shirt.
Club President Steve Straughn emphasized the Kiwanis Club’s commitment to the community, stating, “Since its establishment in 2019, Kiwanis of Pike Road has dedicated itself to enhancing our local community through active participation in events right here in Pike Road. Our annual fun run has been a successful avenue for engaging the community.”

The proceeds from the Kiwanis Club’s previous four Family Fun Runs have contributed $19,000 towards college scholarships for Pike Road seniors and $4,000 towards school libraries. Scholarship winners from this year’s event will be announced in May, as per Straughn.
The success of the Family Fun Run is largely attributed to the support from various sponsors.
