Families in the Pike Road community are invited to kick off summer with fun, faith, and fellowship as Eastmont Baptist Church presents Backyard Blast — an off-campus alternative to the traditional on-site Vacation Bible School (VBS) Eastmont has traditionally held. The Pike Road Backyard Blast is June 1–3 at Founder’s Station in Pike Road.
According to Eastmont Baptist Church Children’s Minister Ty Logan, “the church wanted to create a different kind of Vacation Bible School experience this year — one that his hosted in the communities and neighborhoods where our Eastmont Families live and allows them to build community connections.”
“Instead of hosting one large Vacation Bible School on our campus on the Atlanta Highway, we wanted to bring the fun into neighborhoods across our area and create a more relational, community-focused experience for families,” Logan said.
“Our children’s area is undergoing a renovation this summer,” said Logan. “So it provided an opportunity for our members to connect with others in their local communities. The Pike Road location is one of six different sites our church will be hosting.”
The Pike Road Backyard Blast location will take place at Founder’s Station, located near Pike Road Intermediate School. The event will run nightly from June 1–3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Eastmont’s Backyard Blast is designed for children ages 3 years-old through 6th grade. The event will feature games, recreation, crafts, snacks, music, and Bible teaching in a fun and welcoming environment. Parents and/or guardians are also encouraged to stay while their children participate.
The week will conclude with a Family Celebration Night on June 4 at Eastmont Baptist Church featuring inflatables, food, games, and additional family activities.
Church leaders say the event is intended to provide a meaningful summer experience that helps children grow in faith while giving families an opportunity to connect with others in the community.
