CB&S Bank’s Central Alabama branch in Pike Road is collecting non-perishable food donations through the week of the Iron Bowl as part of the annual student-run rivalry food drive that rallies the state to fight hunger.
Donations dropped off at the Pike Road branch will benefit the Heart of Alabama Food Bank, helping provide meals for individuals and families across the region.
The effort is a regional component of the larger Beat Auburn Beat Hunger and Beat Bama Food Drive campaigns organized by students at the University of Alabama and Auburn University leading up to the Iron Bowl. Across the region, the drive also supports the East Alabama Food Bank.
“Football rivalries bring out incredible passion in Alabama, and this food drive channels that energy into something that truly matters,” said Brad Armagost, Executive Vice President and Central Alabama Regional President, CB&S Bank, Inc. “Hunger doesn’t take a timeout. Every can, every box, every donation we collect will help put food on the table for families right here in our region. We’re proud to support the Heart of Alabama Food Bank, and we invite our neighbors to stop by our Pike Road branch and give what they can.”
How to help:
- What to donate: Non-perishable food items.
- Where to donate: Drop off items at participating CB&S Bank branches, including the Central Alabama branch in Pike Road.
- When to donate: Now through the week of the Iron Bowl.
The Iron Bowl food drive tradition harnesses the friendly competition between Alabama and Auburn fans to make a tangible impact on food insecurity across the state. CB&S Bank’s participation aims to boost local collections and ensure more families have access to nutritious food heading into the holiday season and beyond.
