CB&S Bank is partnering with Kids to Love to support children in foster care through the “More Than a Backpack” School Supply Drive, an initiative aimed at filling backpacks with essential school supplies for approximately 6,000 children across Alabama.
The community-wide drive is underway and will continue through July 31, with donations being accepted at CB&S Bank locations, including a collection box in the lobby of the bank’s Pike Road branch.
The “More Than a Backpack” campaign seeks to ensure children in foster care begin the school year equipped with the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.
Andrea McCain, Senior Vice President and Senior Community Development Officer for CB&S Bank, said, “A backpack filled with school essentials represents more than just supplies—it provides confidence, encouragement and a sense of belonging for students facing challenging circumstances.”
Community members are encouraged to donate new backpacks and a variety of school supplies, including backpacks, three-ring binders, pocket folders, one-subject notebooks, filler paper, colored pencils, markers, scientific calculators, erasers, ink pens, scissors and crayons.
