Marie-Eve Lacroix has introduced a unique culinary experience to the quaint town of Pike Road with the opening of her food truck, La Galette Nomad. La Galette Nomad specializes in sweet French crêpes and Lacroix’s goal is to offer a taste of authentic French cuisine to the Pike Road community.

When asked about her motivation behind starting La Galette Nomad, Lacroix shared that her desire to share the cherished tradition of food from her culture was a driving factor. Her passion for bringing warmth and togetherness through food is evident in the carefully crafted crêpes served from her food truck.

Currently, La Galette Nomad offers a variety of sweet crêpes, including classics like Nutella and banana, as well as unique combinations like lemon curd with fresh raspberries and chocolate syrup. Lacroix plans to expand her menu to include savory crêpes like ham and cheese, sausage and kale, and smoked salmon, once a commissary kitchen is secured.

Lacroix shared that the authenticity of her recipes and the quality of ingredients used is what sets La Galette Nomad apart from others. For her crêpes, she uses buckwheat flour, which is gluten-free and non-GMO, adding a distinctive flavor to the crêpes. In addition, she is committed to using only the freshest and most organic ingredients available.

Since she opened and had several pop-up shots, the customers of La Galette Nomad enjoy the delicious flavors of the crêpes and appreciate the personal touch that Lacroix brings with her French accent and engaging personality. Lacroix’s belief in the power of sharing food as a way to connect with others resonates with her customers and adds to the overall experience of dining at La Galette Nomad.

Choosing to locate her business in Pike Road was a natural decision for Lacroix, as the sense of community and warmth found in the town mirrored the close-knit feel of her native France. The support and acceptance she has received from the Pike Road community have made her feel at home, further inspiring her to share her culinary heritage with her neighbors.

Lacroix is grateful for the community’s support and the opportunity to bring a taste of French culture to Pike Road. Through La Galette Nomad, she hopes to not only satisfy appetites but also create memorable experiences that celebrate the joy of sharing food and bringing people together.
