P.R.A.Y. Launches School Supply Drive to Help Pike Road Students

by Pike Road News

P.R.A.Y. (Pike Road Advocates 4 You), a new local nonprofit dedicated to serving neighbors in need, has launched a community-wide school supply drive to help hundreds of students start the year prepared. Donation boxes are in place now through Friday, July 24, with supplies to be distributed at the Pike Road Back to School Bash on August 1, 2026.

Organizers say the need is significant: according to data provided by Town Hall, 600 families with children enrolled in Pike Road Schools fall below the poverty line.

“Our mission is to sustain the needs of our fast-growing community and support each other in difficult times,” said organizer Gina Scaletta, noting that P.R.A.Y. was formed to keep resources local and reduce reliance on already overburdened services in Montgomery. The drop-off sites are staffed by local business owners and employees who volunteer with P.R.A.Y.

Organizers are urging residents to spread the word, make a donation or take advantage of this tax-free weekend to purchase some items to donate.

“Back to school can be an exciting time, but for some, it can be a time of stress and struggle,” Scaletta said. “We hope to lighten the burden for families who are also juggling clothing, haircuts, activities, and meals.”
