The Class of 2026 from Pike Road High School celebrated a milestone evening on May 21 as family members, friends, faculty, and community leaders gathered to honor the graduating seniors during commencement ceremonies held at Vaughn Forest Church.

Originally planned as an outdoor ceremony at Pike Road High School, graduation festivities were moved indoors because of the threat of rain. Despite the weather change, the evening remained filled with excitement, pride, and emotion as the graduating class officially closed one chapter and prepared to begin the next.

According to Pike Road High School Principal, Andrea Maness, “This year’s graduating class included 206 seniors. Among the graduates were 43 honor graduates, while 56 students earned Advanced Placement (AP) awards recognizing academic excellence in rigorous college-level coursework.”

The Class of 2026 also demonstrated strong achievement across multiple academic and career readiness pathways. Mrs. Maness, continued, “a total of 106 learners earned at least one benchmark score on the ACT, and 13 students were recognized as WorkKeys honorees for career readiness and workforce preparation.”

In addition, 155 students completed Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, showcasing the school’s continued emphasis on preparing graduates for both college and career success.”

Academic distinction remained a hallmark of the graduating class, with 72 learners earning an Advanced Academic Endorsement. The ceremony also celebrated student-athletes, as 15 graduates earned athletic scholarships to continue competing at the collegiate level.

“The Class of 2026 had more than 80 graduates who received academic scholarships totaling just over $7.2 million,” shared Mrs. Maness.

The class’s scholarships reflect the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the support of teachers, families, and the Pike Road community.

School administrators and faculty members recognized the Class of 2026 for its resilience, character, and commitment to excellence.

Although the weather forced a last-minute venue adjustment, the move indoors did little to diminish the significance of the occasion.

As the ceremony concluded and graduates tossed their caps into the air, the Pike Road High School Class of 2026 moves forward with a bright future ahead.
