Pike Road Baseball Set to Host First Round of AHSAA 6A Playoffs

Pike Road High School’s baseball team is turning a great season into a postseason opportunity, earning a spot in the first round of the 6A Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs.

After winning and being crowned 2026 Area Champions, the Patriots now shift their focus to a deeper run with sights set on a state title.

Pike Road will host Wetumpka High School baseball team in a first-round playoff series beginning Friday, April 24, at Patriot Park. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., with a decisive Game 3, if necessary, set for Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m.

Head Coach Caleb Brooks reflected on the team’s journey and the chemistry that has fueled their success. “This group has been a lot of fun to coach and be around,” Brooks said. “A big moment for our season came when football season ended and we did our ‘Road to The Blue Map’ challenges in December. Every football player showed up the week after being knocked out of the playoffs and competed alongside the rest of the team.”

Brooks emphasized how that early commitment shaped the team’s identity. “It showed the competitiveness this group has and has played a huge part in these kids having respect for each other and coming together as our season has progressed,” he said. “This team has won a lot of close games and shown a lot of toughness throughout the season.”

With postseason play now underway, the Patriots are leaning on that resilience and unity. “I’m proud of the way this team has competed and the work they’ve put in to get us to this point,” Brooks added. “We’re excited for the opportunity to have a chance at competing for a state championship this postseason.”

Fans planning to attend should note that this is an official playoff event, and regular season passes will not be accepted. All tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance online at GoFan: https://gofan.co/event/6515276?schoolId=AL72525

To help streamline entry, advance ticket purchases are strongly encouraged. A cash gate will be available; however, attendees paying at the gate should specify which game they are attending to ensure proper ticketing.

With momentum, toughness, and a championship mindset, Pike Road looks to defend its home field and take the next step toward a state title.
