Authorities with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Pike Road Fire Department, and the Town of Pike Road have closed Pike Road between Bon Terre Blvd and Pine Acres until further notice due to an active gas leak. Pike Road Fire was on scene, and the road will remain blocked until the leak is fixed by the gas company.
Gas company representatives have advised the Pike Road Fire Department that repairs may not be completed until later in the day or early evening. As a result, Pike Road will remain closed from Pike Road have closed Pike Road between Bon Terre Blvd and Pine Acres until the gas line is repaired.
Current closures and impacts:

- Travel along Pike Road between Vaughn Road and Troy Highway: expect significant delays; use an alternate route
School transportation:
- Pike Road Schools’ transportation department is detouring buses from all three campuses around the affected area.
- Families should anticipate significant delays for students living in or traveling near the impacted neighborhoods.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area, follow posted detours, and allow extra travel time.
