The 31-member Pike Road High School Traditional Cheer Team has won the 2026 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship earlier this month, claiming the Large Varsity Intermediate Division II title and bringing a national championship home to Pike Road.
These young women spent months refining their routine—perfecting the timing and every step. Their hard work and dedication have paid off with this national recognition, and they have represented Pike Road, Pike Road Schools, and their families with excellence and pride.
“The Pike Road Cheerleaders did it!” the Town of Pike Road shared on social media celebrating the victory. “Their hard work, dedication, and heart shined on the national stage, and we could not be prouder of this incredible team. Way to represent Pike Road with excellence and pride!”
Pike Road Schools also recognized the team’s accomplishment in a social meida post sharing “On behalf of Superintendent Dr. Keith Lankford, the Pike Road Schools Board of Education, and the PRS Central Office Team: “CONGRATULATIONS to our PRHS Traditional Cheer Team! They competed at the UCA National Championship and walked away as the Large Varsity Intermediate Division Champions! We are so proud of the hard work these ladies showed on the national stage!”
The champions were honored by a town proclamation during a celebratory Pike Road Town Council meeting, where the community recognized the program’s remarkable achievement. In their inaugural season as a traditional cheer team, the Patriots earned the top spot at the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s National High School Cheerleading Championship in the Large Varsity Intermediate Division II.
