Pike Road Schools has officially awarded the construction contract for a new access road serving Pike Road Elementary School to Pike Road-based DuBose Construction Company. The much-needed project is a key step toward streamlining traffic to and from the elementary campus, with the goal of creating a safer, more efficient commute for families and staff.
Construction is expected to begin by the end of February. Throughout the duration of the project, traffic flow on the Avenue of Learning is expected to remain uninterrupted.
Superintendent Dr. Keith Lankford expressed appreciation for moving the project forward. “This additional road is long overdue. We expect it to be complete this summer and ready for school traffic at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.”
