A Pike Road woman has died following a crash in Montgomery, according to the Montgomery Police Department.
MPD responded to Interstate 85 near Taylor Road at about 11 a.m. Wednesday on reports of a two-vehicle crash. On scene, first responders found Chera Robinson Doty, 46, of Pike Road, with life-threatening injuries.
Doty was taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital for treatment but died from her injuries the following day.
Doty worked as the children’s minister at Century Church, the Pike Road-based ministry shared on its social media page.
Century Church said funeral plans have been made for Sunday at the church.
“Chera was the brightest of lights and in her honor the family encourages those in attendance to wear their brightest and sparkliest colors as we celebrate her life,” the church said.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
