Auburn starting defensive lineman and former Pike Road Patriot standout Malik Blocton announced that he plans to enter the transfer portal, becoming the second Auburn defensive starter to do so.
Blocton, who just completed his second season on the Plains, appeared in all 12 games with eight starts in 2025. He finished with 18 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, half a sack and a fumble recovery, helping anchor a front that ranked 12th nationally in fewest rushing yards allowed per game. His year included a two-TFL outing and his first career fumble recovery against Ball State, a third straight game with a TFL at Oklahoma, season-high three tackles at Texas A&M and again vs. Georgia, and a half sack in the Iron Bowl against Alabama.
As a true freshman in 2024, Blocton played immediately and earned midseason True Freshman All-America recognition from On3. He totaled 16 tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss, flashing early with three tackles, two TFLs and a sack in his debut against Alabama A&M, making his first start at Oklahoma, adding a half-sack at Missouri, and stacking productive snaps throughout SEC play.
A Pike Road High School product, Blocton was a multi-year force on the Patriots’ defensive front. He set school records with 118 tackles as a senior and piled up 30 tackles for loss and 14 sacks that season under coach Granger Shook. For his career, he amassed 323 tackles and 45 sacks, earned a spot in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game, and was a finalist for ASWA 6A Lineman of the Year. A basketball letterman, leadership council member and honor student, he rose to consensus four-star status in the 2024 class and committed to Auburn before his senior year amid offers from across the SEC and beyond.
Blocton is the son of Pamela Blocton and the brother of former Auburn defensive lineman Marcus Harris; he also has two sisters, Brittani and Abbigayle.
