Monday, Nov. 3, marked the start of a new four-year term for the Town of Pike Road as Mayor Gordon Stone and the Town Council took their oaths of office for the 2025–2029 quadrennium.
Mayor Stone, who has served since 2004, was sworn in by Alabama Supreme Court Justice William B. Sellers. The council—Mim Whatley (Place 1), Rob Steindorff (Place 2), Marcus Robinson (Place 3), Angie Bradsher (Place 4), and Doug Fuhrman (Place 5)—took their oaths from Pike Road resident and Alabama Senate member Will Barfoot.
The ceremony ushered in two newly elected council members: Whatley and Robinson, who won their races in the August municipal elections and will serve their first terms. Bradsher, first elected in 2012, was sworn in for her next term. Fuhrman begins his second term on the council, and Steindorff also returns for another term.
Stone’s swearing-in by a sitting justice of the Alabama Supreme Court underscored the formality of the occasion, while Barfoot’s role reflected the town’s close-knit ties to state leadership. Together, the mayor and council will guide municipal policy and services through 2029.
With continuity in the mayor’s office and a mix of veteran and first-time council members, the new term positions the Town of Pike Road to balance ongoing initiatives with fresh perspectives. Town leaders said the council’s composition—drawing on long-standing experience alongside new voices—will support the community’s priorities in the years ahead.
