An anonymous Instagram account using the handle “barstoolpikeroad” shared a racially motivated post in the days leading up to last week’s Pike Road High School vs. Percy Julian High School football game, drawing swift condemnation from Pike Road Schools and prompting a law-enforcement investigation.
Lankford said. “Let us Be clear: this account is in no way affiliated with Pike Road Schools or any of our athletic teams. We absolutely condemn the vile, hateful and inappropriate comments, images, and videos that were posted. Such behavior is unacceptable and has no place in our school or our community.”
Lankford added, “Although the post has since been removed, we remain angered and saddened that it was ever created and shared. Pike Road Schools stands firm against hate and intolerance in every form.”
