This year marks the 15th anniversary of New Waters Realty. The real estate agency has grown to become the leading agency in Pike Road and a top contender in Montgomery County.
Since its establishment in 2010, New Waters Realty has built a strong reputation for personalized service, community commitment, and expert local knowledge.
Jessica Powell, Senior Manager of Brand Engagement with New Waters Realty, reflects on the company’s journey to becoming a distinctive presence in the real estate market.
“We started with a focus solely on new home sales within The Waters, but over the years we expanded to allow our agents to sell properties anywhere, supporting a broader client base while maintaining our boutique style,” Powell shared.
Jennifer Atkins is the broker, and when New Waters Realty was formed, the agents only represented the new home sales within The Waters. Today, the agency currently boasts 16 agents—a modest size compared to some larger brokerages, but one that allows the firm to provide personalized support and close client relationships. “We don’t want to be huge. Our priority is to offer direct representation and comprehensive support for each client,” Powell emphasized.
New Waters Realty’s approach includes a unique support system for its agents and clients. Powell shared, “Not a lot of real estate companies have a marketing person on staff, like me.” Her role includes helping agents with social media, web pages, and other in-house marketing efforts.
The firm also features an approachable broker, dedicated support staff for paperwork and accounting, and monthly sales meetings. This hands-on support enables agents to focus on exceptional client service.
Beyond business, community engagement remains a foundational pillar of New Waters Realty’s philosophy. The agency is notably active in supporting local organizations in Pike Road, including the Pike Road Theater and the Pike Road Schools.
“One of the big things that we started a few years back is the 250 Club,” said Powell. “It may seem like a small amount, but when you multiply that by the number of homes we sell a year, it adds up and makes a meaningful impact.”
The “250 Club” initiative, which donates $250 to the Pike Road schools for every new home sold, directly benefits programs such as the school band and athletics. They also support organizations throughout the River Region.
Powell shared, “Each year, we evaluate what the school needs most so that our contributions can make the biggest difference.”
Despite New Water Realty’s smaller size compared to other real estate agencies throughout the River Region, the brokerage holds a significant market position. Powell shared the following rankings from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS):

- Top 10 Agency in the River Region MLS (covering the River Region and beyond)
Looking ahead, New Waters Realty plans to deepen its specialization in the luxury market. “We’re seeing more high-end listings than ever before, with several million-dollar homes currently on our books,” said Powell. The agency is keen to expand in this segment, leveraging tailored marketing strategies that match the quality of these premier properties.
“We strive to stay ahead of trends and are always willing to evolve—we won’t just stick with the status quo,” Powell added.
