Pike Road Schools Superintendent, Dr. Keith Lankford, recently attended a Town of Pike Road Town Council meeting to share encouraging progress on the new Pike Road High School construction project with the council and community. Since June 2024, significant milestones have been reached on schedule and within budget, demonstrating steady advancement toward the school’s completion.
Dr. Lankford reported that Phase I, which includes all civil and site work, has been successfully completed on time and on budget. Additionally, the building plans are currently 22% complete while utilizing just 20% of the allocated budget, underscoring efficient use of resources in the early stages.
Looking ahead, the new high school is anticipated to welcome students from grades 9 through 12 in January 2027. The move from the current GW campus is projected for December 2026, allowing ample time for transition and final preparations.
To keep the community informed and involved, Dr. Lankford offered to deliver monthly updates during Board of Education meetings and quarterly briefings at Town Council meetings. These regular communications will offer ongoing transparency and opportunities for residents to stay engaged as the project progresses.
