by Pike Road News

The Pike Road Schools recently released a new edition of its Pike Road Recap, featuring various highlights from the school community.

This issue covers various activities and events at Pike Road Elementary School. It highlights the writing competition at PRES, featuring narrative and expository writing. Students were awarded “Winning Writer Goody bags” and were set to participate in a pizza party at the end of the week. The Pen Pal Project involved Mrs. Dolandson’s students writing letters to pen pals across the USA and locating their addresses on a US map.

It mentions a special celebration for Dr. Seuss’s birthday, where Pike Road Elementary School welcomed guest readers from Pike Road High School, the Central Office, Board Members, and even Mayor Stone to share their love of reading with the students.

It also discusses an event focused on personal development, covering topics such as nutrition, finance, personal wellness, safety, communication skills, and etiquette. This event also featured a financial reality fair, where students experienced hands-on financial responsibility by managing budgets for real-life expenses based on assigned careers and salaries.

Finally, it shows how PRS honored Miss Georgia Washington and her contributions to education, with staff and students wearing purple and gold to celebrate her remarkable life.

Overall, the events and activities in this recap reflect the school’s commitment to nurturing students’ educational, personal, and social development, as well as honoring important figures in education.
